I ascended the hill near the reservoir without dismounting, for the first time, on the 3rd try. (Dori remembers walking up that stretch with me some 15 years ago!) But Kennedy Ridge defeated me this time.
15.93 miles, at an average pace of 7.9 mph. Hey, give me credit for dealing with the heat!
In other news -- a quick trip to the Spinner house let me see a blue heron nearly4 feet tall standing in Overstreet Creek. I looked away for a second, and it was gone. Dropped in on Dad for a few minutes. He advised me to look -- s l o w l y -- out the door. And there in the back yard was a doe and two young fawns. The deer population took a hit a year or two ago from a "wasting disease," but the population is rebuilding, even with fawns born out of season. Drive carefully, folks!
