So, of course, my first thought was to show of the scenic views off Persimmon Road. As I found out when I got home, however, the camera had only run for seven seconds on that lap. Well, I've been wanting to share the Gunstock Creek ride. This time, the camera was on, and you can enjoy 22 minutes of my ascending Oordeel Hill and hurtling down the other side.
Some of you will be amused by the sense of frantic exertion conveyed by the film. The flaws will also stand out, alas. There are stretches of pavement, where I looked at the road to keep the camera from looking into the sun. It might feel like spring, but Old Sol still stays low in the south. The worst part? Somehow, the camera was angled 15-20% to the left of true straight-ahead. So, you'll only catch glimpses of the streams I lovingly focused my attention on. And the rock wall Suzy pointed out to me is just a blur at best.
Well, anything worth doing is worth doing badly. Perfectionism can paralyze. I had fun, learned stuff, and look forward to getting things right, as I show of this amazing bit of "almost heaven" for seasons to come.
