Such a fine, sunny, day, and I had to go. Although we had rain in the morning, by the time Polly arrived the air was clear, cool, and breezy. So, I took the 9.5 mile ride to the far end of Gunstock Creek Road, then back, then to Overstreet Creek Road, then home. Average speed -- 8.1 mph. The breeze on my back going uphill refreshed, even as it chilled the forearms. Every now and then, a random leave caught the wind in such a way as to vibrate briskly.
When you cycle through a living landscape, every trip is unique.
